What were and are they thinking? Saying that your child having a psychiatric diagnosis is the equivalent of your child being kidnapped?! Yeah, that’s going to make people want to lessen the social distance between themselves and families of and children with psychiatric diagnoses. Sheesh, these folks have me putting families and people with labels in the same sentence, that’s how far out they are

They have a link for comments on the first link, I suggest you use it to civilly tell them what you think of their efforts on their own behalf. (Because there is no way these efforts are on behalf of children or families with psychiatric labels no matter what they say.)

You’re welcome! I just added your blog to to my websites of interest, I identify as a person with a disability due to kidney failure and have had some similar thoughts about people’s reaction to that as you write about.
Yes, I just love it when people who are setting themseles up as all-knowing experts on the rest of us can’t even compose a proper sentence
